Fenit is a small village located about 10km west of Tralee. It is a busy village steeped in a maritime heritage, with an active marina, fishing commercial port. The much anticipated Tralee- Fenit Greenway is also scheduled to open this summer. Fenit is a very popular destination and provides numerous leisure activities including, swimming, fishing, sailing, coastal rowing, water sports boat trips to name a few. There are also lovely cafes, restaurants, a playground and picnic areas.
The swim and safety weeks have been running for decades and are always held during the first two weeks in August, commencing on bank holiday Monday. The lessons take place on the sheltered blue flag beach in the village. Some of the safety classes are held at the “diving boards” which is a short scenic walk from the beach and is close to the beautiful Little Samphire Lighthouse.
We are delighted that each year there is great demand for the various classes on offer, given the enjoyment, learning, friendship and health benefits the children gain from them. We look forward to welcoming you all to Fenit!
