Kells Beach is a blue flag beach. It is a small, tidal, sandy cove located in a little inlet off Dingle Bay, in a predominantly rocky shoreline. The beach is largely sheltered from Atlantic wave action. Activities include swimming, fishing, water sports and boat trips (Kerrycoastaltours.ie). The swim and safety weeks are generally held in July, dates chosen depending on having a higher tide for the lifesaving lessons. The identified bathing area (pier to rocks) is approximately 100 m wide. Seaview café and takeaway is across the road, ideal for a hot chocolate or a handy lunch during the day. Kells Bay Gardens is just up the road, perfect for a delicious Thai meal & a stroll around exotic gardens before leaving Kells Bay.
